It is always my endeavour to adapt the ropes as best as possible to the body, the anatomical conditions/possibilities of my model depending on the situation. The physical and mental safety has the highest priority. The intensity, the impact is determined on the one hand by the figure/position and on the other hand by the duration of the hold.

It happens again and again that I am surprised by the ability of my models and that possibilities open up that I would not have thought possible. It is an interactive process between the model and myself.

When I think I have reached the limit, I make an agreement with my models that they have to explicitly ask for more. This gives me and the model an additional sense of security.

deep into the soul and abysses of your counterpart

The sessions with my model cons are always extraordinary. Every time we go to the extreme together. We often develop a signature tie, i.e. a bondage/figure that does not yet exist in this form as far as I know. The form is what you can see on the outside and that alone is incredible for me. What happens emotionally on the inside, however, is the essential thing for me. When I look at my pictures, I become an observer of my own work. For me, these can be very moving moments in which I become very emotional. The pictures here are from our last meeting, it was our sixth and by far the most emotional. To be able to look deep into the soul and abysses of your counterpart in a moment requires extreme trust, the gift of really letting go, a strong will to allow what is happening. To get as close as possible, to look closely, to understand what is happening, requires a great deal of strength to hold the other person without falling. Beauty and maximum risk in one moment. It’s perhaps a bit like holding your hand in boiling water and not knowing whether it’s ice cold or boiling. You are simply fascinated by the moment. You should know all this when you look at the obviously crazy things in these pictures.

Split on the floating Hashira

I had the Idear , to tie a split on the flating hashira. The implementation of a new idea sometimes succeeds with incredible ease, other times it is really hard work to get to the set goal. In this case, we needed a whole day for the figure on the floating hashira in order to realise all the details safely and feasibly. It is only thanks to our mutual energy and absolute will that we have come this far. Remarkable is also the journey from Cons over 800 km to the studio, after two days of session the departure at 0:50 am to Cologne by bus, to finally fly to Croatia, to get on the bus there and to travel on to an important family reunion. Moments in life can be very precious.

The project with the mermaid on Hashira started in 2018/19 when one of my models just stopped in front of Hashira with a TK. It gave me an unmistakable, non-verbal understanding that I should ask him to tie him completely to the pillar from top to bottom. Even this version, in which the feet are on the ground, had an incredible physical and psychological effect on my model. The model is tied up as motionless as possible. My friend Alexander gave me in 2020 the idea of trying out the whole thing while floating. He called the figure „little mermaide floating on the Hashira“. When looking at my picture I had the feeling that the form is not yet complete. So I tied the end of 2022 a version with stretched hands over the head. This version was a big challenge for both my model and me. I installed 18 ropes with great rope tension and precision as quickly as possible so as not to overexert my model. The psychological and physical strain on my model was extreme at the end. We did it together and I was able to capture the moment in a picture. Looking at this picture, I can’t help but think of trying the whole thing upside down, i.e. with your feet up. My model was very enthusiastic about the idea and said that this variant, where the arms are not over the heart, should be much simpler. However, we were wrong: now there were no problems in the arms, but in the legs. The maximally motionless tied up mermaide on the Hashira is an extreme challenge for the model and for the hands of a rigger.

The hip opening

An incredibly challenging position on the hashira that leaves the model almost no leeway. Extremely revealing. An unbelievable achievement for a man. Pain from the leg ropes, huge pressure on the wrists against the hashira and then this incredible leg extension/hip opening.

The classic kinbaku figure Kata-ashi plays with the elements of pain, hip opening, helplessness and the sexual arousal that results. Most men have considerably less flexibility in their hips than women. It is not possible for them to simultaneously move one leg parallel to the torso and let the other leg tied in the futomomo hang relatively straight vertically. All the more remarkable is this pose of Cons in this figure. It is possible for him to go through and enjoy all the above elements in full intensity.

Splits on the Hashira

The splits are a challenge for everyone, and men in particular have great difficulty getting into this position because of the reduced mobility in the hips and the strong adductors. All the more remarkable is this complete splits on the Hashira, which I tied here for the first time. It was important for me to keep the form as simple as possible this time, only a single column tie at each ankle and a TK for the upper body. Little by little, the body stretched so that the foot, which was floating at first, barely touched the ground. Finally, my model asked for a bamboo gag. The icing on the cake to be completely delivered, with the corresponding reaction to follow…

 

Complete mermaid floating on the Hashira

Some projects develop to greater and greater perfection over time. I started with a model that simply stopped in front of the Hashira and wanted to be tied up from top to bottom. At my friend Alexander’s place I saw the figure floating, and he used a TK as the uppermost stopping point. A short time later I implemented this idea with a model. While looking at the pictures, I spontaneously had the idea to pull the rope of the mermaid completely over the whole body, i.e. with stretched arms. To realise this, I redesigned the mermaid’s legs so that the essential vertical force could be absorbed by the thighs. Lifting the arms above the head is a challenge for anyone, as anyone who has ever tried to paper a ceiling will know. In this bondage position the arms remain above the head for a relatively long time, as the speed with which you tie is simply limited if you want to do your job well. My devoted model needed all my mental support at the very end in order not to panic. “My hands had been numb for a while and the cold was starting to creep down my arms.” By chance, Elton John’s „Your Song“ was playing in the background. The lyrics „it’s a little bit funny, this feeling inside..“ have taken on a very special meaning since that day… :-))

Signature tie in the first session

My model’s unconditional will to do this figure with me has contributed greatly to this great form. A classic Teppo (the archer) combined with a mermaid for the legs, hung upside down with a built-in bamboo stretches the entire upper body into a backbend. The open display of vulnerability is heightened by the use of candle wax for me, also a symbol of the vulnerability of life and the trust in life.

 

One aspect of a suspension for me is to send my bunny into a world where it feels comfortable in the end but doesn’t know how it got there and where it was physically in between. A blindfold acts as a master switch for visual orientation. If you switch it off, it is much easier for the model to concentrate on themselves and dive deep into subspace.
